Opening Prayer:+

Lord, who lifts us up, reside in our hearts today. Help us to listen closely for your word to us. Remind us that you are always with us, throughout all of our lives. Give us confidence in your presence, so that we may go into your world ready to witness to your love through our works and our deeds, for we pray these things in Jesus’ name. AMEN.

Psalter Reading:                    Psalm 105:1-6, 37-45

O give thanks to the Lord, call on his name,
    make known his deeds among the peoples.
Sing to him, sing praises to him;
    tell of all his wonderful works.

Glory in his holy name;
    let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Seek the Lord and his strength;
    seek his presence continually.

Remember the wonderful works he has done,
    his miracles, and the judgments he has uttered,
O offspring of his servant Abraham,[a]
    children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

37 Then he brought Israel[a] out with silver and gold,
    and there was no one among their tribes who stumbled.
38 Egypt was glad when they departed,
    for dread of them had fallen upon it.

39 He spread a cloud for a covering,
    and fire to give light by night.
40 They asked, and he brought quails,
    and gave them food from heaven in abundance.

41 He opened the rock, and water gushed out;
    it flowed through the desert like a river.
42 For he remembered his holy promise,
    and Abraham, his servant.

43 So he brought his people out with joy,
    his chosen ones with singing.
44 He gave them the lands of the nations,
    and they took possession of the wealth of the peoples,

45 that they might keep his statutes
    and observe his laws.
Praise the Lord!

Reading of the Old Testament:          Exodus 16:2-15

Reading of the Epistle:                       Philippians 1:21-30

Reading of the Gospel:                       Matthew 20:1-16

This is the word of God for the people of God.

Thanks be to God.

Response to the Word:         The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Prayers of Concerns and Joys:+

Requests this week:

The Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be they name.  Thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

Tithes, offerings and gifts:

We ask you Lord to bless each person who leaves or mails a portion of what you have given back to you.  May these offerings be acceptable to you and bring others to Christ through the work of your people.  Amen
